Ballet Project 2014: Part 8 – Shawangunk Grasslands
This is part 8 of the 2014 edition of the Ballet Project. This is a series I shot last summer and fall. These photos comprise ballet poses at beautiful unexpected locations around the Hudson Valley and Catskills region of New York State. Check back weekly for new posts on the Ballet Project.
The grasslands preserve was a location that I had not idea even existed. After shooting several locations earlier in the day I was looking over a Google map and found a green spot on the map that designated a nature preserve in the Town of Shawangunk in Ulster County. This spot was beautiful. It is not common to have a wide open 360 degree space in the Hudson Valley that is flat grassland.
We were alone as we shot and spent about an hour shooting on the dirt road as the sun slowly set in the west. The dress in these shots matches perfect with the sunset tones in the sky.
