Ballet Project 2014: Part 13 – The Ashokan
This is part 13 of the 2014 edition of the Ballet Project. This is a series I shot last summer and fall. These photos comprise ballet poses at beautiful unexpected locations around the Hudson Valley and Catskills region of New York State.
After our shoot at the Peekamoose Blue Hole (see part 12), we continued to wind our way through the mountains and eventually ended up on the Ashokan Reservoir.
When we arrived it had the same other-worldly feel with the fog in the distance across the water. The tones at on the shore were like nothing I had seen before. Everything was monotone except for the dress and ballerina.
While shooting a few cars did slow down to watch us on the shoreline. Other than that though we were alone in the mist for the entire shoot.
