Ballet Project 2014: Part 3 – Little Stony Point on the Hudson
This is part 3 of the 2014 edition of the Ballet Project. This is a series I shot last summer and fall. These photos comprise ballet poses at beautiful unexpected locations around the Hudson Valley and Catskills region of New York State. Check back weekly for new posts on the Ballet Project.
One summer evening we took a trip to Little Stony Point. This spot is my favorite view on the Hudson River. The sunset and clouds worked out perfectly and the light turned a warm gold as the sun went down.
We had the beach all to ourselves, so no on-lookers again. We shot several directions with sunset behind Newburgh on the horizon, with Breakneck Ridge as the backdrop and with Storm King Mountain as the background. I consider these are some of the most beautiful images that I have shot for the Ballet Project. As the sun set and light faded we hurried back through the woods to the road. Just in time before we lost most of the light.
